Sleep Hypnotherapy
Lack of sleep can, excuse the pun, be a nightmare. It can ruin the following day, leaving you feel tired, irritable, stressed, and then the whole cycle repeats itself.
In my personal and clinical experience interrupted sleep generally (although not exclusively) comes down to one thing ~ an overactive mind. Regrets about what you have done, or not done, that day or 'shopping lists'of things to do, play on the mind and disrupt sleep.
Practical measures include reduction in caffeine, relaxing baths and avoidance of mind stimulants before sleep can help (movies, TV or 'racy' books.) Alcohol isn't as useful as you think and can make sleep patterns worse.
Also, you may consider having a pen and paper near the bed to 'empty' your thoughts into. Even if you can't read it the next morning the process of putting that thought on paper can help. Alternatively get up and do something you hate to do, like the ironing or cleaning!
Hypnotherapy for sleep is also very effective. Finding out what is going on in your life and what the route cause of the sleeplessness is can be useful. Also, the trance state calms the mind and is a good place to drift into a deep sleep from.
