Smoking, I believe is a habit, controlled by that powerhouse ~ our subconscious mind. Smoking doesn’t fir the addictions pattern; we can switch the craving off at work or on the 'plane. Each habit is different, some smoke 60 a day, others have a cigar at Christmas. Many can function with no nicotine in their system ~ not the same as say heroin addicts.
Using counselling and hypnotherapy we have helped many people to stop, usually in a one off two hour session. They have found it strangely easy to switch off the craving and not replace it with another one (eating comes to mind). The hypnotherapy process is very simple, and nothing like the stage shows. You enter a very relaxed state and the therapist makes the suggestion to the subconscious mind that the craving for tobacco is switched off, and reinforces what harm it was doing to you.
